Summer 2010

It has been a busy summer. Allie was born on May 12th and Grammy spent the month with us. May was spent enjoying a new baby and adjusting to the new dynamics of the household.

In June, Ethan was busy finishing up his soccer league and his T-Ball league. Nolan started a 5 week soccer class and this was his first experience on a team. It was exciting for him. At the end of June, Kathy, Alex, and Lizzy came into town and spent a week with us. Ethan and Nolan were excited to see their cousins.

July started off with the fireworks at Rochester Park. Nolan and Ethan were loving them this year! During the second week of July, Grammy came up from Florida and Kathy and the kids came back and stayed with us for the rest of the month. It was a hot month and we spent a lot of time outside in the pool. We also made a day trip to Cedar Point.

The last weekend in July we traveled to Wisconsin for Mike and Jodi's wedding. The wedding was beautiful and  we had a great time at the reception. Leah's friend came to our hotel to babysit the kids when they were tired of dancing. Ethan waited the whole night for "I gotta feeling" from the Black Eyed Peas to play. Once it came on, he announced that the dancing was done and the party was over and it was time to go up to the room.


We spent a couple days in Menasha catching up with all of Kevin's Aunts and Uncles and finally were able to meet baby Jenna. We had a really good time, and the kids were on their best behavior. Thanks to Lisa for allowing our entire family to stay with her!

After the wedding, we traveled over to The Wisconsin Dells where we met up with Kathy's brother and his family. We rented a condo and spent the next two days going to several different indoor and outdoor waterparks. It was so much fun. Nolan couldn't get enough of the water slides. He would find one he liked and go on it about 100 times in a row (literally!).


Once back in Michigan, we celebrated my sister's 40th birthday party with a Luge Birthday bash. It was a great time and I think Kevin thought he was back in college! The next day was Allie's baptism. She was baptized on August 8th, 2010 and Kirk was the Godfather and Angel was the Godmother. We had family over afterward for a great lunch that Connie prepared for us.


Kevin's family left in the middle of August to go back to Florida and China. At the end of August, Shannon invited us up North to Lake City for a mini vacation. I went alone with the kids and spent 4 days hanging out on the beach. It was fun, but challenging with Allie and the two boys by myself. This vacation wrapped up our summer and we're now looking forward to school starting next week and new beginnings....
